SANDAKAN: A 243-metre-long conveyor machine was destroyed in a fire at an industrial facility in Batu Sapi here yesterday.
The blaze, involving machinery at a premises operated by Sawit Kinabalu Jetty Sdn Bhd, was reported at 5.09pm.
A team from the Sandakan Fire and Rescue station was deployed to the scene, located about 15km away, arriving at 5.30pm to begin firefighting operations.

The fire was brought under control at 6.51pm and fully extinguished by 10.15pm.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire and the total losses are still under investigation. - NST
