IN ULTRA conservative Peninsular Malaysia, people from the LBGT category know better than to show their affection in public.
Same sex marriage is still not accepted in the eyes of Malaysian law, and probably never will in the current political climate.
So, it would be foolish for two Malay boys to record their affection on TikTok and put it up for public viewing.
In the short video, one of the lovers could be seen brushing the other’s hair with a brush. They started touching each other in the face and talking about seeing other men at the Ramadan bazaar.
The video then ended with a kiss on the cheek. This is exactly the type of video that will get the content creators sent to the JAKIM re-education camp.
The video can also be found at: https://www.tiktok.com/@ekqaljenny02/video/7612222753684360455
At the time of writing, the video has already received over 735 comments and 12,000 likes. Netizens by the droves also expressed their disgust at their behaviour, especially during the holy month of Ramadhan.
“Did I cancel my fasting by watching this video,” wondered netizen Capik_106 while Ecanskii mentioned that this is the end of times, a spiritual reference to the world coming to an end due to degenerate behaviour.

“Do not normalise this,” added netizen Feather. Topoi further lamented that the behaviour of the Gen Z are stressing him out. Also, do check out the brutal photo comment from quirky orc:

However, whether the content creator is truly gay or not, remains to be seen. The video could be some play acting just for the sake of getting attention.
Regardless, we would like to point out that there are one thousand and one creative ways to market one’s content across the digital space.
Pissing off the Muslim majority population in Malaysia is certainly not one of them. The damage is already done, and perhaps, they can take a lesson out of it when curating their future contents. —Focus Malaysia
