Police say they will know this week if charges are to be filed, after the teenager said he had given two statements and identified those who allegedly assaulted him and took his money.

The 16-year-old, who transferred to a vocational diploma programme in January, said he had given two statements to police and also identifed those who allegedly assaulted him and took his money.
“I want action taken against the boys who bullied me, but there has only been silence on the case,” he told FMT.
When contacted, the investigating officer at Mutiara Damansara police station said the investigation paper is currently with the Attorney-General’s Chambers. “We will know this week (if the case is brought to court),” he said.

FMT reported in October last year that the boy had alleged that he had been bullied since the first day at school in February that year.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, alleged that four older schoolmates extorted money from him and assaulted him during recess near a staircase. A Form 5 student grabbed his shirt, demanded money and punched his right arm even after he handed over RM5.
The following day, the student punched his left arm and took another RM8 while saying: “If you tell your father, I will smash your face”, the boy told FMT. He alleged that the group were feared as they were known as “gangsters” and regularly extorted other pupils.
His 43-year-old father lodged a police report after noticing bruises on both his son’s arms. At a meeting with the parents held later, the other students allegedly admitted assaulting his son, he said.
The teenager said the students were suspended for two weeks in April last year, but no further action appeared to have been taken.
“One of them apologised, but the others still refuse to admit they were wrong,” the teenager said. “I’m angry because no action has been taken. Why haven’t they been charged in court?” - FMT
