Parti Bersama Malaysia co-de facto leader Rafizi Ramli has denied allegations that the party has a megadonor or received funds from Na’imah Abdul Khalid, widow of the late Daim Zainuddin.
Instead, he said on Facebook Live today that the biggest funder of the party, for now, is himself.
He said he had paid RM30,000 for the Bersama launch last month, and around RM50,000 as a deposit for the party’s headquarters in Puchong.
The rest of the expenses, he said, are being covered by loans and instalments for now.
Besides himself, he said 27,000 Malaysians have also become Bersama funders - including members who have paid a RM20 lifetime fee, over 1,100 who bought party merchandise, and another 2,000 who have contributed to crowdfunds.

In total, through these three channels, Rafizi said the party has raised RM750,000 - funds which are being used to pay for the party’s nationwide roadshow, order merchandise and campaign materials, pay for digital services, and office renovations, among others.
“All of you are Bersama’s funders. It is a hassle to depend on small RM10, RM50 contributions from the public, but we don’t want Bersama to be slaves to a funder,” he said in a social media video today.
Fundraising dinner
In his post, he also announced that the party is hosting a fundraising dinner on June 27 at SJKC Wangsa Maju.

Ticket prices range from RM150 to RM2,000 per person, and up to RM18,000 for a table.
The fundraising dinner seeks to finance the rental of two campaign trucks for the Johor and Negeri Sembilan elections, Bersama’s campaign until the 16th general election, office renovations, and campaign materials.
Previously, Rafizi had denied allegations that he paid RM8.6 million to take over Bersama.
Meanwhile, the allegations regarding Na’imah are believed to be linked to yet-to-be-proven claims by Selangor Amanah communications committee member Ezzat Kamaruddin, who claimed that a youth NGO had received RM54 million from a pro-Zionist external source.

Ezzat further alleged that the NGO was funded by the wife of a former minister and that another former minister was also involved.
This is believed to be veiled references to youth NGO Mandiri, Na’imah, and Rafizi.
Mandiri has denied wrongdoing and is suing PKR Youth chief Kamil Abdul Munim over similar allegations. - Mkini
