209 foreign hostesses nabbed in raids on Johor entertainment joints

JOHOR BAHRU:

Police arrested 209 foreign women working as guest relations hostesses in raids at 12 entertainment centres in Johor from 2.15am to 9am today.

Johor police chief Ab Rahaman Arsad said 13 caretakers of entertainment centres, of whom three were foreign men, were also detained.

The hostesses, aged between 19 and 40 years, comprised nationals of Vietnam (93), Thailand (87), Laos (11), Indonesia (7), Myanmar (6), and the Philippines (5). Rahaman said 44 of them tested positive for drugs.

Rahaman said premises violating licence conditions would face stern action, including the revocation of their licences. - FMT
