Defection rumour is PKR's diversion tactic, says Noh

Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar today accused PKR of creating defection rumours among their Selangor lawmakers to divert attention from the party's internal problems.
"If they (PKR) cannot solve a problem they will create a new problem. For example, purportedly four PKR assemblypersons are defecting.
"Who started the rumours? It was among them," claimed Noh during a press conference in Petaling Jaya today when asked to comment on the PAS muktamar's decision to cut ties with PKR.
Noh, who is also Selangor BN head, claimed it was an open secret that there are two opposing camps within Selangor PKR.
"I received information that it (defection rumour) was raised during a PKR meeting.
"In PKR we cannot deny there are two camps. They quarrel among themselves but after that they will create a new problem," he said.
Of late, there has been text messages alleging that two independents and four PKR state lawmakers were part of a delegation who were at the Selangor palace last Wednesday.
PKR's Rodziah Ismail (Batu Tiga assemblyperson), Dr Daroyah Alwi (Sementa) and Idris Ahmad (Ijok) has denied the defection rumours while Yaakob Sapari (Kota Anggerik) has yet to respond publicly.
Former Selangor menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim did not respond to claims that he was part of the delegation. His aide, Faekah Husin, denied that Khalid was involved.
Although PAS' decision to cut ties with PKR requires the endorsement of the Islamist party's syura council, there are rumours that PAS had approached Abdul Khalid to persuade him to join the plot to replace Moh
While PAS' decision reached during its muktamar in Kedah still requires an endorsement from its Syura Council, there were also rumours that it had approached Khalid to replace Mohamed Azmin Ali as menteri besar.

Analysts, however, believe there is a "very low" likelihood of PKR state assemblypersons withdrawing support for Mohamed Azmin and neither was it likely that PAS had approached Abdul Khalid.
Pakatan Harapan currently has 29 state assemblypersons in Selangor - 14 from the DAP, 13 PKR and two from Parti Amanah Negara. PAS, on the other hand, has 13 state representatives while Umno has 12.
Together with two independent assemblypersons (Abdul Khalid and Teluk Datuk state assemblyperson Loh Chee Heng), a coalition between PAS and Umno needs at least two more assemblypersons to join them to form a new government.- Mkini
