CAMERON HIGHLANDS: About 32 people, including those in the police station in Ringlet, were affected by a flash flood following a two-hour downpour.
Cameron Highlands OCPD Deputy Supt Hasadid A. Hamid said heavy rainfall since 5pm on Tuesday caused several houses to be inundated, including three police barracks and the Ringlet police station.
"Three policemen's families were affected. Seven other families with 24 villagers staying near the Sungai Ringlet riverbank were also affected," he said, adding that clothing, furniture, four cars and one motorcycle were damaged.
"No one was injured or lives lost. The police station was not damaged," he added.
He said the flood lasted for about 30 minutes and waters began to recede at around 6pm.
It is learnt that the water level was about one metre high at some areas in town.
