King Salman hosts lunch for Najib and Rosmah

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Rosmah Mansor held an audience with Saudi Arabia's King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud at King Salman Palace, Riyadh today.
They met the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at 2.30pm (7.30pm in Malaysia).
Najib held a discussion with the monarch before the latter hosted lunch for the prime minister and his delegation.
The delegation included Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, who is also Minister with Special Functions, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Jamil Khir Baharom and Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Zainol Rahim Zainuddin.
Saudi Arabia Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Salman and Saudi Arabian cabinet members were present.
Najib is on the final leg of a three-day working visit to Saudi Arabia.
King Salman, Najib, United States President Donald Trump and more than 50 Arab and Muslim leaders attended the Arab-Islamic-US Summit at King Abdulaziz International Convention Centre in Riyadh yesterday.
During his speech at the summit, Najib said Malaysia has a strong track record of "deradicalisation" which helped reintegrate former extremists.
"Our deradicalisation programme has had a remarkable 95 percent success rate in reintegrating former extremists.
"Malaysia stands ready to share our expertise, just as we have long worked with partners around the world," he said.

Among others, Najib said Malaysia and the US had established the Digital Strategic Communications Division to counter terrorism-related messaging and worked with Australia to stem the flow of funding for terrorist groups.
He said that the fight against terrorism cannot be achieved through military means alone.
"It is also about winning hearts and minds. To do this, a credible narrative needs to be told, in which Islam and modernity are compatible; material progress and religious devotion go hand-in-hand; and religious knowledge and scientific inquiry mutually reinforce one another," he said.
