PBB veep Douglas Uggah says each party has been invited to send 10 representatives.
KUCHING: The Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties are expected to hold a meeting in the federal capital tomorrow, says Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Douglas Uggah Embas.
“The BN headquarters had invited 10 representatives from each BN component party to attend a briefing in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow. With regard to what, I am not sure,” he told reporters here today.
He was asked to comment on a Chinese language newspaper report last week that all BN component parties were expected to be called for a meeting in the near future.
Earlier, Uggah flagged off the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development Batang Lupar Road Tour 2017.
Uggah, who is a Sarawak deputy chief minister, also said the list of PBB candidates to be fielded in the 14th general election had not been finalised.
“Talks are ongoing between PBB president (Abang Johari Openg) and BN chairman (Najib Razak). What I’m sure is, I will not contest,” he added.
Uggah is the seven-term Betong MP as well as Bukit Saban assemblyman after winning the seat in last year’s state elections. -FMT
