‘Holidaying’ Umno Leaders Leave Najib In The Cold

(Sun Daily) – Only two Umno’s Supreme Council members showed up at court when embattled former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak was slapped with three charges of CBT and one charge of abuse of power on Wednesday.
They were away on holiday. This is despite them crying political vengeance over the charges. They also attended a Supreme Council meeting later that day at the party’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
“After the party elections, many people decided to take a break and went on holiday. There was no way for them to return from overseas just to attend the unanticipated court proceeding,” said Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam was quoted by The Malaysian Insight as saying today.
“(Najib being charged) was rushed through to divert attention from the real issue, which is Pakatan Harapan’s failure to make good on their (election) promises”.
Only two Supreme Council members were seen at the court complex – Tan Sri Noh Omar and Lokman. The most senior Umno leader present was vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
However, several Supreme Council members visited Najib at his house in Jalan Langgak Duta in the evening after he was charged.
