Khairy stays put as opposition MPs walk out over new speaker

They say they are dissatisfied with Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof as the new Dewan Rakyat speaker.

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition MPs have walked out of the Dewan Rakyat in protest over the new speaker, former Court of Appeal judge Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof.

They said they were dissatisfied with the choice of candidate as it did not follow the regulations.

Only Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin remained in the Dewan.
