President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday met Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad at the fight of boxing champ Manny Pacquiao against Lucas Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur.
In this video taken by GMA News’ Ian Cruz, the two leaders shook hands before they left the venue together.
They sat beside each other at the Axiata Arena and clapped for Pacquiao, as seen in these two photos shared by Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go.
Pacquiao knocked out Matthysse in the seventh round of the World Boxing Association welterweight bout, and thereby won his 60th victory.
Duterte was also with his son Sebastian “Baste” and Go in the arena.
After the fight, Duterte and Mahathir shared a meal, as shown in this photo shared by Go.
Duterte congratulated Pacquiao on his victory and called him “one of the greatest boxers of all time.” —KG, GMA News
