Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak claimed trial in the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur today to three charges of criminal breach of trust and one charge under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act.
He was charged before Sessions judge Zainal Abidin Kamaruddin. The charges are in connection with the 1MBD scandal.
No plea was recorded in the Session Court, which then moved to the case to the High Court to deal with Najib’s plea on the charges and any bail application filed.
The prosecution team is headed by attorney-general Tommy Thomas and Najib is represented by Muhammad Shafee Abdullah.
