Queen Elizabeth 92 To Quit, Names Charles Successor

This just in: longest-standing British monarch to take final curtsy

Queen E, 92, issued request to Commonwealth Heads of Government
to appoint Charles successor in meeting at Buckingham Palace

“my sincere wish Commonwealth will offer stability, continuity for future
and Prince of Wales should carry on important work started by my father in 1949

“By continuing to treasure and reinvigorate our associations and activities, I believe we will secure a safer, more prosperous and sustainable world for those who follow us  (??) a world where the Commonwealth’s generosity of spirit can bring its gentle touch of healing and hope to all.”

My comments : My friend who is the Feng Shui expert says that the Feng Shui of Buckingham Palace is really, really strong. The British monarchs have ruled for over a thousand years since William The Conqueror set foot on the isles in 1066.

Now, at long last the throne passes on to Prince Charles who will be crowned as King Charles. Queen Elizabeth was crowned in February 1952. She has spent 66 years on the throne and is the longest serving monarch in British history.

The British Monarcy has thoroughly adapted to the modern age - proving that monarchy need not be "feudal" anymore.

The British Monarchy is not exempt from any of the laws of England. They can be fined for speeding or parking on the yellow line just like anyone else. Their annual expenditures approved by Parliament are open to public scrutiny and criticism.

More importantly the British Monarchy is still upheld as the paragons of virtue by the English people.  To a large extent the British Monarchy carry themselves very well.

Most if not all of them are well educated or well schooled (Queen Elizabeth was schooled at home, she never attended a real school or university).  They do exhibit  high standards or good manners, polish and dignified conduct (although I think the everday Japanese do outshine them in good manners, especially in public).

Some have shown more non-conforming behaviour, especially in their youth - but no big deal really.

Most importantly the British Monarchy have endeared themselves the the British public, even in the 21st century. They are a symbol of England, they provide an identity.

Most cleverly they do not rule England anymore.

So Long Live The King - Charles The King of England. May he rule wisely over the realm.
