Riza Aziz grilled for seven hours by MACC investigators during 4th round of questioning

PUTRAJAYA: Film producer Riza Aziz, the stepson of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, was grilled for seven hours by graft busters at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters (MACC) here over probe into the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.
He arrived at about 9.45am driven in a black tinted Audi, accompanied by his lawyers in a different car, for his fourth day of consecutive questioning on Friday.
He was spotted leaving the compound for Friday prayers at about 1.10pm and returned at 2.30pm.
Riza, who was wearing a yellow t-shirt, black blazer and slacks, left the MACC headquarters at about 7.30pm.
Riza, 48, had his statement recorded on allegations that 1MDB funds were used to finance films which his company produced.
So far, he has been subjected to a total of almost 30 hours of questioning by graft busters since being summoned by MACC to have his statement recorded on July 3.
Riza is said to be associates with fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho or Jho Low, who is also wanted for questioning by the MACC.
On Wednesday (July 4), Najib was charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust and one count of using his position for gratification as part of a probe into money missing from 1MDB, the state fund.
Najib pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The charges are related to the RM42mil that allegedly went from SRC International, a former 1MDB unit, into Najib's personal bank.- Star
