Riza Aziz leaves MACC after six hours

Riza Aziz, the stepson of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, has left the MACC's Putrajaya headquarters after six hours of questioning.
Riza did not speak to the media on his way out.
Earlier, chief commissioner Mohd Shukri Abdull confirmed that Riza would not be detained today.
"He is only having his statements recorded," he said in a Whatsapp message to Malaysiakini.
Riza, who heads film production company Red Granite Pictures, had endured nine hoursof questioning by the commission yesterday.
The US Department of Justice has claimed that US$64 million in allegedly misappropriated 1MDB funds had been wired to Red Granite and used to finance the production of several Hollywood movies – including Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street.
The sum was part of US$238 million in allegedly stolen funds that the DOJ believes were transferred to accounts controlled by Riza.
The company maintains that it did not knowingly use stolen funds to finance its films.
Riza is also accused of using the funds to purchase luxury properties from businessperson Low Taek Jho.
According to the DOJ, he had also previously claimed that US$94 million of the 1MDB funds he received was "a gift." - Mkini
