Sabah vocational college is runner-up in global contest

The educational research methodology competition was held at University Roma Tre in Rome.

Keningau Vocational College in Sabah presented a case study titled ‘Exposure, Experience, Exploration: Maximising Learning With Real World Opportunities and Platforms’.

KENINGAU: The Keningau Vocational College in Sabah was runner-up at an international competition, proving that perseverance and determination are factors that contribute to success.

The Excellence Award in Teaching Methodology Study at the European Conference on Research Methodology (ECRM) competition, held at University Roma Tre in Rome, Italy, saw the United Kingdom taking the top award.

Keningau Vocational College director Johari Sabin said its victory proved that nothing is impossible if there was focus and determination.

The college, which was represented by English teachers Mohd Sirhajwan Idek and Christ Ronny Harry, presented a case study titled “Exposure, Experience, Exploration: Maximising Learning With Real World Opportunities and Platforms” at the competition held on Thursday and Friday.

It was also the 11th international victory for Sirhajwan, from Kota Belud, said Johari, adding that the college had also walked away with four gold medals and a special award at the World Invention Innovation Contest in Seoul, South Korea, on June 3. -FMT
