PETALING JAYA: Umno has appointed lawyer Hariharan Tara Singh in its legal bid to get back some RM116.7 million confiscated by the authorities.
Its legal unit chief Azalina Othman Said said a team of lawyers led by Hariharan are considering various aspects in claiming the money, which Umno said belonged to the party.
The money, which was kept in various currencies, was part of cash and luxury goods which police said was worth over RM1 billion, that was seized from several properties linked to the family of former prime minister Najib Razak. -FMT
