Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi looks set to be the opposition leader, according to the seats arrangement of the opposition bench of the Dewan Rakyat today as Parliament resumes today.
This is because the Bagan Datuk MP has been marked to sit at the first seat of the first row of the opposition bench.
It is learnt that the seat next to his is reserved for former prime minister Najib Razak, who is the Pekan MP.
On the front bench, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his deputy Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail take the lead.
Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, who is on a one-month medical leave, has a seat next to Wan Azizah, followed by those for Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu.
Transport Minister Antony Loke will be sitting behind the premier, said Lim Swee Kuan, Lim’s press secretary on his Facebook today.
It is believed Parliament may upload the seat maps on its official website later today.
