Zuraida still undecided on PKR polls

Wanita PKR chief Zuraida Kamaruddin said she is still undecided on which position to contest in the upcoming party polls.

However, the housing and local government minister said there was still time for her to ponder on the matter as the deadline for submission of candidacy is on August 5.

"I have not decided on what position to contest.

"I will make my decision in the near future as the deadline has been extended from July 29 to August 5.

"This gives me time to consider," she told a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.

Zuraida had previously indicated that she will not defend her position as Wanita PKR chief.

The next most senior position would be one of the three PKR vice president positions.

On a related matter, Zuraida downplayed concerns that a fierce contest in the party election in November could lead to a split in the party.

Zuraida said while rivalries were to be expected, the election was a healthy democratic practice. - Mkini
