Ex-top cop being probed over speech at UiTM

Former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan is being probed over his speech at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) on January 30.
The Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador said the contents of Musa's speech is being probed for incitement and whether it would threaten public order.
Musa (photo) spoke at a forum titled "Wacana Isu Semasa Perjanjian Damai Hat Yai 1989: PKM Menyerah Diri?" (The Hat Yai Peace Accords: Did the Communist Party of Malaya surrender?), which was organised by the UiTM's Institute of Malay Rulers.
In his speech, he suggested DAP had published a book which blamed the Malays for the May 13 riots. He said DAP was trying to brainwash Malay youths on this issue.

On the ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the Hat Yai accords that was held in Selangor last December, Musa said this was an attempt to revive communism.
"If they were commemorating the accords, why didn't they invite the police? Hanif (Omar) and Rahim (Noor). They were involved... Why were they (communist) the only ones involved?" asked Musa.
Following this, he claimed that there was an ongoing movement to turn Malaysia into a republic.
"This is based on clear facts. There were discussions when they were an opposition party, to set up a republic. That is why the Malay rulers are being insulted. We cannot accept this," he said.
He did not specify which opposition party he was referring to.
He also claimed that an unspecified "they" were out to "tarnish" Islam in Malaysia.
"They are linked to the evangelists. They are linked to the Jews. I've done a lot of research and I have found that there are links between evangelist groups and DAP.
"This is because Hannah Yeoh wrote a book (on) turning Malaysia into a Christian country," he said.  - Mkini
