Farhash, Yusoff Rawther case is small, don’t politicise, says Anwar

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim says the matter should be left to the police to investigate.
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim says the assault allegations against his political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak is a small matter and should not be politicised.
“Let the police decide on that. There are many more serious cases that I know,” he told reporters after an event here today.
Earlier today, Anwar’s former research assistant Muhammed Yusoff Rawther was called in to give his statement to police after the Attorney-General’s Chambers reopened an investigation into a report Yusoff lodged against Farhash for assault.
FMT has also learnt that police have been asked to submit investigation papers to the AGC today once they have completed taking statements from Yusoff.
It is understood that the fresh investigations are carried out under Section 506 and Section 323 of the Penal Code, related to the offences of criminal intimidation and causing hurt.
In his police report in May last year, Yusoff said Farhash had assaulted him at a bungalow used by Anwar as his office, causing injuries to his shoulder.
A medical report from Pantai Hospital stated that he had injuries and a tear to his shoulder, which required a surgery that would cost RM40,000.
Farhash has denied the accusations. - FMT
