Impeachment Of President Trump Dismissed - It Was A Hoax

The whole charade of impeaching Donald Trump was indeed a silly hoax.
Predictably the case has been dismissed.

Mitt Romney one of two Republican Senators who had voted against Trump earlier changed his vote for the second count.

Here is the news. Do read my comments below.

Trump acquitted of impeachment charges

President Trump voted "not guilty" in impeachment trial in US Senate

Trump defeated gravest threat to his 3-year-old presidency

Trump readily defeated effort to expel him from office

far short of 2/3 supermajority required for conviction

Senator Mitt Romney voted guilty on first count
He voted not guilty for second count

Trump repeatedly dismissed probe as "hoax" and "witch hunt"

acquittal closed chapter many Democrats reluctant to enter
Nancy Pelosi originally rejected pressure to impeach Trump

My comments :  Donald Trump is the first US president against whom impeachment plots were hatched even before he was elected president.

The Deep State, the military industrial complex and a number of the Washington lobby groups do not like Trump.

The military industrial complex does not like him because he keeps announcing military withdrawals from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and other places.

Plus Trump did the unthinkable : he became the first US President to meet North Korea.

Immediately after his election the Deep State was accusing him of wanting to start the Third World War over North Korea. But that handshake across the DMZ destroyed the 'warmonger' accusations.

Then Trump has been pally pally with Vladimir Putin - the US' imaginary enemy no.1.

This type of pally-pally behaviour with the 'enemy' is a definite no-no with the military industrial complex and the Deep State in the US. It represents huge losses to the weapons makers and the vested interests.

The Global Warming folks and their entire eco-system of 'funded by big business' NGOs do not like Trump at all. Trump has rightly called the bluff on global warming. (Here is a hint : The atmosphere contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.038% carbon dioxide.  Folks, 0.038% is 38 parts per million).
Even before Donald Trump became president the Deep State actors were already hatching plots to impeach him.

Here is a list of impeachable grievances that were thrown up by Trump's enemies since 2016 :

1. Alleged collusion with Russia during 2016 US presidential election
2.  Dec 2016, Democrats introduced bill that would require the president to divest any assets that could raise a conflict of interest, including a statement that failure to divest such assets would constitute high crimes and misdemeanors "under the impeachment clause of the U.S. Constitution. (over Trump's hotels in foreign countries which had local government agencies as partners, awaiting government approvals for brands and trademarks etc eg in China).

3. Dec 6, 2017 "Associating the Presidency with White Nationalism, Neo-Nazism and Hatred", which formed the basis of a resolution for impeachment.

4.  Dec  2017 resolution of impeachment failed in the House by a 58–364 margin

5.   Finally Democrats gained control of Congress in 2019 and launched multiple investigations into Trump.  On Sept 24, 2019 Nancy Pelosi announced formal impeachment inquiries over Ukraine.

As it stands now Donald Trump will likely go on to win the next presidential election on November 3rd 2020.

There are peculiarities like a sizeable swing towards Donald Trump among the African Americans -  who least voted for Trump in 2016. Interestingly the latest trade deal with China has not attracted negative comments from the Chinese. It appears to show 'mutual respect' -  where the US is seen as an equal to China !!

The Mexico Canada trade deal has also been concluded and Trump is focussed on Europe which he says is more  unfair than China is trade.

Wall Street is continuing to support Trump with real money. The Dow Jones was up again - 483 points.
