Justo claims PetroSaudi duo residing in Switzerland and UK

1MDB whistleblower Xavier Justo (left) says it is up to the Swiss government to arrest Tarek Obaid (centre) and Patrick Mahony (right), who are being sought by Malaysian authorities.
PETALING JAYA: 1MDB whistleblower Xavier Justo has claimed that he knows the whereabouts of two individuals linked to 1MDB who are being sought by Malaysian authorities.
Justo, a former employee of PetroSaudi International, told FMT that Tarek Obaid is in Switzerland while Patrick Mahony sometimes resides in Switzerland and the UK.
“I still have friends in Geneva who know (their whereabouts),” he said when asked how he knew where the two PetroSaudi International Limited (PSI) directors were.
This comes after the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) commissioner Latheefa Koya said on Tuesday that a warrant of arrest had been issued on the two men and fugitive financier Low Taek Jho or Jho Low.
She said MACC had also notified Interpol to issue a red alert on the three individuals.
They are charged with criminal conspiracy in abetting the procurement of a total of US$69 million (RM286 million), money MACC said was linked to 1MDB and SRC International.
In 2015, Justo was arrested at a Thai resort island following allegations by Petrosaudi that he had demanded payment in exchange for not disclosing confidential information. He was released 18 months later.
The leaked documents from Petrosaudi relating to its joint venture with 1MDB were then published by Malaysian and international media groups and formed the basis of a worldwide money-laundering investigation.
Justo told FMT that he and his family were “delighted” over the warrant of arrest for Obaid and Mahony.
“It’s about time that Tarek Obaid and Patrick Mahony face arrest.
“After all that they have done to our family and what they have stolen from the Malaysian people, it is a moral obligation for the authorities to arrest them,” Justo said, adding that it was now up to the Swiss authorities to take action.
“We and the Malaysian people deserve that,” he added.
PetroSaudi International is the company through which billions of ringgit from 1MDB were apparently siphoned.

Following his resignation from the company due to a fallout with Obaid, Justo obtained a hard disk containing 230,000 emails, including information on the alleged misappropriation in the PetroSaudi-1MDB deal. -FMT
