Kelantan Bersatu Youth backs Saddiq as national youth chief

Kelantan Bersatu Youth has declared its backing of Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman to defend his youth chief post in the party's upcoming election.
Kelantan Bersatu Youth chief Asran Alias also denied claims made against Syed Saddiq (photo), who is also Youth and Sports Minister, that the latter has failed to carry out his role as a leader.
"We are of the view that he has proved himself capable of carrying out his responsibilities, including those involving Kelantan Bersatu Youth.
"Many programmes and activities were carried out from 2018, both before and after (Pakatan Harapan)'s GE14 victory," Asran told Malaysiakini today.

Among others, he said various programmes were held in conjunction of national celebrations, aside from ongoing welfare projects.
Malaysiakini reported yesterday that Bersatu Youth exco member Mohd Muzzammil Ismail has joined the line-up of contenders against Syed Saddiq.
Muzzammil said his decision was made in response to Syed Saddiq's alleged failure to lead Bersatu Youth and chart its path.
He is the second challenger after film producer Razalif Mohd Zain, who announced his own move to contest the post on Jan 26.
Meanwhile, Asran said Kelantan Bersatu Youth's pledge to back Syed Saddiq was reaffirmed by all division representatives present during its meeting on Feb 6.
"Kelantan Bersatu Youth is also of the view that patience and gratitude are virtues which must be instilled in evaluating leadership performance.
"Any process to improve (performance) must be done through discussions, and the outcome of the discussions must be accepted in a positive manner.
"Therefore, Kelantan Bersatu Youth is committed to support Syed Saddiq as the national youth chief at the next party election.
"A chance must be given (for Syed Saddiq) to continue with the national agenda, particularly towards youth development for a more productive and inclusive future," he said. - Mkini
