Deputy Foreign Minister Marzuki Yahya's press secretary, Tajuddin Mohd Kassim died today after suffering from a massive brain haemorrhage due to hypertension.
A former journalist, Tajuddin, 46, breathed his last at 7.02pm today, after being hospitalised at the Bukit Mertajam.
He leaves behind his wife and 15-year-old daughter.
Condolences poured in for his family from his friends, media and party comrades.
Tajuddin was a former journalist with The New Straits Times and The Sun before joining Rapid Penang.
At the time of death, he held the post of treasurer for Bersatu Bukit Mertajam division.
He will be remembered fondly as a colleague and peer who was kind, friendly and helpful, who always had a smile for everyone.
As a press secretary, a post he assumed after May 9, 2018, Tajuddin remained friendly and approachable to the media.
Marzuki, who visited him at the BM hospital today, said Tajuddin, better known as Teejay, was dedicated to his work, and party struggle.
"He was an honest man, I have truly lost a good friend and staff," Marzuki told Malaysiakini.
On Feb 12, the media fraternity was abuzz with the news that Tajuddin was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed in a Nasi Kandar shop in Bukit Mertajam.
He was in a coma until his death today and doctors have reportedly claimed he suffered a stroke while having his breakfast.- Mkini
