NOT TO COLLECT HUGE FINES BUT COMPULSORY 3 WEEKS REFRESHER COURSE FOR DRUNK DRIVERS

We need to totally agree with former Law Minister Zaid Ibrahim that our main concerns must be to eradicate DRUNK DRIVING and not collect monies for the offence.

We need to educate our drivers on road safety and a compulsory 3 weeks refresher course for the drunk driving offenders must be introduced and during this period their licence must be suspended and after passing a refresher course, their licence lifted and given to them. The offender should be charged a reasonable amount to attend this refresher course.

Further more, the inconvenience that would cost them will deter them from committing the drunk driving offence.

Those who fail to undertake this refresher course should immediately be taken to court and charged.

If this driver commits a second drunk driving offence, his licence must be withdrawn for life and no appeals be allowed.

Drunk drivers must be taught to get someone else to drive them home or take a cab home.

The idea of imposing huge fines will encourage corruption and malpractice.

As it is, corruption is a menace the government is trying its level best to eradicate.

This way, we will see a reduction in drunk drivers and element of corruption somewhat wiped out.

  2. NO. NEVER. Not for Malaysian drivers. These offenders should not only be fined but should also be put behind bars in addition to caning. Malaysian drivers can never be educated. It's a lost cause.
