Amanah polls: Shazni Munir takes top Youth wing spot

Amanah Youth wing deputy head Shazni Munir Mohd Ithnin has been elected as the wing’s new chief.

Party Youth communications director Khairuddin Daud said the selection was done following a special meeting at Wisma Amanah in Kuala Lumpur today.

“Up to 34 Youth exco members, including state Amanah Youth chiefs across Malaysia, were involved in today’s selection,” he said in a statement.

The post of national Youth chief was previously held by Titi Serong assemblyperson Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim, who left the party to side with the Perikatan Nasional coalition in Perak.

Also in today’s meeting, Pulai Sebatang assemblyperson Muhammad Taqiuddin Cheman was made deputy of the wing, while Mohd Hisyamudin Ghazali its vice-chief.

Hasnul, along with Pengkalan Batu assemblyperson Norhizam Hassan Baktee in Malacca, as well as Tronoh assemblyperson Paul Yong Choo Keong and Buntong assemblyperson A Sivasubramaniam of Perak had their memberships terminated by respective Pakatan Harapan component parties in March after they defected to support PN.

The move came after Bersatu exited the Harapan coalition, leading to the administration of the two states to shift to PN. - Mkini
