The Kuala Lumpur High Court today postponed proceedings for Rosmah Mansor’s solar power project graft trial as a counsel on her defence team was unwell.
According to lead prosecutor Gopal Sri Ram, lawyer Akberdin Abdul Kader - who was to conduct the cross-examination of a witness today, was taken ill.
“He is the lawyer tasked with cross-examining the witness (today). So we (the prosecution) have no choice but not to object (to vacating the trial today).
“He (Akberdin) cannot speak,” Gopal informed the press after exiting the chambers of judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan along with the defence team.
This was confirmed with the press by Akberdin himself when exiting the court.
The trial is set to resume on Aug 3.

In his witness statement, Rayyan claimed Saidi made the payment in two separate submissions.
