KOTA KINABALU: A special team from the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) raided the house of Kuamut assemblyman Datuk Masiung Banah, who is from the ruling Parti Warisan Sabah, on Wednesday (July 9).
His wife uploaded pictures of the officers combing through their house at Kepayan here on her Facebook page.
It is learned that nothing was taken though the officers took pictures inside and outside the house.
The officers, believed to be from the Kuala Lumpur office, had arrived at the house at around 9am Wednesday.
"No one should be afraid of the IRB if they have nothing to hide," said Datuk Kalakau Untoh, a relative of Masiung.
Kalakau, who is a former federal deputy minister, said he hoped that the actions were not related to the current political situation in the state.
Masiung, a former United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) vice-president, could not be reached for comment.
Two weeks ago, Masiung lodged a police report claiming that unknown individuals were hanging out outside his house. - Star
