LABUAN: After over a week of disruptions, water supply for the majority of consumers in Labuan will be restored in stages beginning July 17.
Labuan Corporation CEO Fary Akmal Osman said repair work on the main pump pipe from Pulau Enoe, which had been leaking, was completed yesterday afternoon.
“The water department will do the flushing as the repair work has been resolved,” she said, adding that it would take several days for the water to reach the service tanks and from there, the consumers.
“The department’s technical staff will do their best to ensure that water supply is fully restored by July 19,” she told Bernama.
She also said technical assistance from Petronas Chemical and its sub-contractors PMP and Empada had helped despite the bad weather and floods affecting the area. - FMT
