Sabah allows karaoke centres, arcades to reopen

Malaysiakini

Sabah has decided to follow Putrajaya's move to allow game arcades and family-oriented karaoke centres to resume operations.
In a statement today, Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal said the state government made the decision in line with the federal government's move last Friday to reopen such entertainment venues from July 15.
"The operational hours must adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Health Ministry," he said.
Indoor funfairs, edutainment centres, children’s play gym, machine and tech entertainment game premises are also allowed to open their doors for business, he added.
Among the SOPs that must be adhered to are body temperature checks, restricting the number of customers based on the size of premises, one-metre social distancing, registering via the MySejahtera app, and frequent sanitisation.
Shafie advised the people to continue to practise social distancing, wear surgical masks and use sanitisers when they are out.
Venues are encouraged to allow online and on-the-phone ticket sales.
Pubs and discos, however, will not be allowed to reopen.  - Mkini
