PETALING JAYA: Darell Leiking of Warisan has urged the Election Commission to allow Sabahans and Sarawakians in Peninsular Malaysia to register as postal voters for the general election.
Leiking said many East Malaysians would find it difficult and costly to fly home to vote.
They should also be allowed to vote by post for future state elections, he said.
Sabahans and Sarawakians unable to return home to vote should not be deprived of their constitutional rights, he said.
“The EC must side with the voters in this country first and do the right thing by registering all Sabahan and Sarawakian voters (in the Peninsula) to vote by post,” he said. - FMT
