Amanah is expected to contest 56 parliamentary seats in the country during the 15th general election (GE15).
According to a source, this is an increase of 29 seats compared to the number of seats Amanah contested in the last general election.
“The total given to Amanah exceeds the party’s target to contest more than 40 seats.
“That is the total decided so far. I’m not sure if there would be changes to the final decision at the Pakatan Harapan convention tomorrow,” the source told Malaysiakini today.
During the 14th general election, Amanah contested 27 parliamentary seats and won 11 of them.
Meanwhile, the source who declined to be named said the remaining 166 seats out of the 222 parliamentary seats up for grabs would be allocated among other Harapan component parties and its allies. - Mkini
