COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 2,618 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,880,005.
Active cases currently stood at 27,299, up 19.9 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Perak (163)
Penang (130)
Sabah (103)
Malacca (70)
Kedah (51)
Sarawak (51)
Pahang (38)
Putrajaya (35)
Johor (33)

Another four deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which two were declared as "brought in dead".
Over the past week, an average of 4.1 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 3.4, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the uptrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,444 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
The states with the highest death toll were Kedah, Malacca, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
There are 1,066 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of which 47 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (92) followed by Sabah (74) and Johor (44). - Mkini
