Covid-19 (Oct 25): 1,743 new cases, 5 deaths

COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,743 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday.

Active cases currently stood at 26,797, up 21 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Kelantan (40)
Kedah (38)
Sarawak (37)
Malacca (32)
Putrajaya (29)

Another five deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which one was declared as "brought in dead".

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,452 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There have been 78 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 158 deaths last month and 247 deaths in August.

There are 1,133 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 44 are in intensive care.

The number of hospital beds used for Covid-19 patients is 25.2 percent higher than it was two weeks ago.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (106) followed by Sabah (67) and Johor (58). - Mkini
