PETALING JAYA: Incumbent Tambun MP Ahmad Faizal Azumu has asked PKR president Anwar Ibrahim to clarify his stand on Israel that he made 10 years ago.
His statement comes two days after Anwar announced that he would contest the seat in the upcoming polls.
Faizal asked if Anwar still supported the statement he made about supporting efforts to protect the security of Israel during an interview with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) in 2012.
“Does he still stand by his statement that he would support all efforts to protect the security of Israel from any threats?”
The Bersatu deputy president also raised concerns about speculation that some of the kidnappers of a Palestinian man last month were supporters of PKR and Pakatan Harapan.
The 11 kidnappers, who were charged last month, were said to be Mossad agents, but the police have said that they’re still investigating the allegation.
Separately, Faizal trained his guns on DAP, urging the party to state its stand on its former senator, Nga Hock Cheh, who had suggested that Malaysia open an embassy in Israel. - FMT
