It is “almost certain” that famed actor, film producer, and director Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri would be contesting for the Port Dickson parliamentary seat - as a Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) candidate.
According to a report by Utusan Malaysia, the matter was confirmed by Negeri Sembilan GTA deputy chairperson Mohamad Jani Ismail, who is also the state’s Pejuang deputy chairperson.
Jani said Idham (above) is ready to compete with any candidate from opposing parties for the seat, even if Pakatan Harapan fields Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun there.
He was quoted as saying that GTA has done its research and has been working on the ground in Port Dickson for the past three months.
“We brought Idham and we received such a good response. The community of Port Dickson welcomes him as a GTA candidate,” he was quoted as saying by the Malay daily when he was met in Pedas.
Elaborating on the matter, Jani said Idham, who is Negeri Sembilan GTA information chief, has his advantages, especially as the founder of Dr Ahmad Idham Special Education Hub.
“The main thing about contesting for the Port Dickson seat is undoubtedly the issues affecting the community.
“We also intend to fight for special children with a special policy for them to be highlighted in Parliament later on,” he stated. - Mkini
