KUALA LUMPUR: Government pensioners will receive cash aid of RM350 even though this was not mentioned during the tabling of the 2023 Budget last Friday, says the Finance Ministry.
The RM350 financial assistance payment will be made in January 2023.
"The Aidilfitri aid of RM300 will be paid to one million pensioners in March 2023," it said in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 12).
The ministry said although Budget 2023 was still subject to the approval of the new Parliament that will reconvene after the GE15, the ministry believes that clarification needs to be provided on some matters that were not clear or were misinterpreted.
This is because Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz was under time constraints to explain the details of more than 200 initiatives during the tabling of Budget 2023. – Bernama
