Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has dubbed BN's target to win at least 10 parliamentary seats in the state for the 15th general election (GE15) as a "pipe dream".
According to the PAS lawmaker, this was because the people of Kedah do not want BN to administer the state again.
"BN can target to win as many seats as they want.
"But the reality is, Kedahans do not want BN," he told Malaysiakini.
Sanusi (above), who is also PAS election director, was commenting on the remark made by BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi that the coalition aims to win 10 out of 15 parliamentary seats in Kedah in GE15.
According to Zahid, BN would set up a task force to ensure that the target can be achieved.
Reality vs daydreaming
Elaborating, Sanusi said that Zahid's target differed from the one set by Kedah Umno.
"Zahid, who resides in Kuala Lumpur, says (BN is targeting) 10 parliamentary seats.
"The Kedah Umno deputy chairperson (Othman Aziz), who lives in the state, has stated that they are targeting only eight seats.
“Do you see the difference between confidence premised on reality and daydreaming?" Sanusi asked.
In the 14th general election, Umno only won two parliamentary seats in Kedah, namely Baling and Padang Terap.
Meanwhile, PAS, which helms the state government now, won three parliamentary seats - Pendang, Jerai, and Sik. - Mkini
