- MCA president Wee Ka Siong warned the government not to protect those behind an alleged attempt to use AI to manipulate elections in Malaysia.
This is after AI company Anthropic disclosed that a threat actor used real census and electoral data to build profiles for targeting, and even a campaign to support Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
“I demand a full explanation, a thorough probe, and accountability from anyone involved.
“Don’t defend anyone who is guilty and hide the truth,” he said in a social media video last night.
He also demanded assurances that Malaysians’ data will be protected and that such AI manipulation would not be used again. - Mkini
