
KUALA LUMPUR: The Communications Ministry will consider lifting the existing restrictions on Grok only once all safeguards are fully implemented.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said a few prompts that previously allowed for the generation of inappropriate images on Grok had been blocked .
However he added other prompts have yet to be blocked.
On Jan 11, MCMC said that Grok would be placed under temporary restriction due to repeated misuse on X to generate obscene, sexually explicit, indecent, grossly offensive, and non-consensual manipulated images, including content involving women and minors.
Fahmi added that any legal action against X, the developer of the application would be left to the discretion of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). - NST
