Netizen warns bikers crossing the lane of death; too little, too late?

THERE is a world of difference between riding a motorcycle and driving a car. People who go from point A to point B while encased in a protective metal shell simply cannot comprehend the dangers posed by the former.

A simple pothole on the road, or even an insignificant hump can present a formidable obstacle for a biker. Falling and crashing with only the flesh on one’s body for cushioning doesn’t sound like a great idea either.

That said, a video post on X drew quite the attention recently, showing just how precarious the safety of a biker can be. A vigilante could be seen standing at the opening of a tunnel dedicated for motorists.

The video can also be found at: https://x.com/bckupacc99/status/2010773149000872095

Whenever a motorist passes by, the man would warn him to slow down due to a dislodged drain grate that presented a dangerous obstacle.

Anyone can point out that this is not going to be effective since a motorist coming from far away at a high speed wouldn’t be able to process the warning in time.

Netizen @bckupacc99 who posted the video on X said they should have given the warning some distance away, and not directly at the danger zone.

“The intention is good but silly,” said @hucingg, adding that the person who recorded it probably wanted to make video contents. “This is not about alerting people, but waiting and recording to see people being wasted,” added another netizen.

@MCaklempon87732 further pointed out how foolish it was since the people won’t be able to hear his voice from afar. On another note, @mengkudu_masam said this was one of the reasons why he rarely enters such lanes during the night.

From the brief video post, it appeared the lane in question is along the LDP, Menjalara, heading to Damansara Perdana. On our part, prevention is always better than cure. That said, motorists should just avoid the lane entirely until maintenance work is completed.—  Focus Malaysia
