PH will convene on May 17 in Johor Bahru, with the aim of strengthening its leadership, improving coordination, and setting its direction on key national issues.

The one-day event, titled “Tekad Madani, Harapan Rakyat”, will be held at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre in Johor Bahru.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is also PH chairman, will deliver the keynote address. Senior leaders from PKR, Amanah, and DAP are also expected to attend.
“The convention aims to strengthen leadership and organisational unity, coordinate political work, and outline PH’s direction in addressing current national challenges,” said a joint statement issued by PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil, Amanah deputy president Adly Zahari, and DAP national deputy chairman Syahredzan Johan.
“As the party leading the Madani government, PH will focus on strengthening the economy, political stability, and public confidence ahead of the upcoming state elections and GE16.”
The last PH convention was held in 2022, before the coalition’s return to the federal government.
GE16 is due by February 2028, but speculation persists that Anwar could call an early election, possibly in the second half of 2026, potentially aligning it with the Melaka and Johor state polls.
Melaka’s state assembly term ends in December this year, while Johor’s runs until April 2027. - FMT
