
KUALA LUMPUR: Members of the public are invited to come together to celebrate the spirit of patriotism at the Ambang Merdeka 2026 Festival, which kicks off Saturday (Aug 29) at Dataran Merdeka and runs until Monday (Aug 31).
According to a post on the Merdeka360 Facebook page, the three-day festival features a wide array of engaging activities, special programmes and colourful experiences for the whole family, including live performances by artists such as Datuk Zainal Abidin, Aina Abdul, Adira Suhaimi and Mimi Fly.
The performances will be accompanied by Kuala Lumpur City Hall's (DBKL) cultural combo musicians and cultural artists, as well as the Kuala Lumpur Orchestra.
Even more exciting, early-bird visitors for Merdeka Eve on Sunday (Aug 30) will receive free food and helmets.
Visitors will also be treated to the dazzling Malaysia World Lights Festival, the captivating Animated Concert Orchestra, and interactive thrills at Digital Games 2026.
The National Day Eve celebration at the Sultan Abdul Samad Building will also feature a spectacular fireworks display as the highlight of the event.
