Three more areas in Sarawak show 'very unhealthy' API readings as of 8am, while 16 locations nationwide register 'unhealthy' air quality.

According to the environment department’s portal, the API at Samarahan stood at 300, Kuching 291, and Sri Aman 214.
Sixteen other areas showed “unhealhy” readings. They included eight locations in Sarawak – Sarikei (195), Sibu (187), Bintulu (179), Samalaju (171), Mukah (170), Kapit (159), Miri (155) and ILP Miri (151).
The other areas were Johan Setia, Selangor (155), Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (153), Tanjung Malam, Perak (132), Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (128), Shah Alam, Selangor (124), Putrajaya (113), Taiping, Perak (112) and Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (105).
Other parts of the country recorded “moderate” API readings. There were no “good” air quality reported nationwide.
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and above 300 hazardous. - FMT
