A FIGHT broke out at the National Transformational Dialogue (TN50) with Prime Minister Najib Razak when one of the participants attacked film producer David Teo.Teo was directing a question at Najib when comedian Sulaiman Yassin, rushed at Teo and slapped himThe fight took place right in front of Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor.

The situation, however, was de-escalated quickly by the moderator Rosyam Noor.
At the end of the event, Teo and Sulaiman were asked to come on stage and apologise to each other.

The famous comedian from the old comedy series, Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu told reporters later that the incident was a “gimmick” and that there was no animosity between the two.

“There is nothing between us at all; it was just a gimmick,” he said.

Teo, however, denied the incident was a gimmick.

“I didn’t know him, and I didn’t expect such a reaction“

Just before he was attacked, Teo had asked the moderator Rosyam not to only pick questions from the artistes in front and neglect those at the back.

Teo said that he was merely trying to advise Rosyam not to overlook the artistes at the back when he was handed the microphone to ask the prime minister a question.

”I was trying to address him in a relaxed way but Rosyam got angry and glared at me.

“I wanted a casual introduction as it was done on the circular stage.

Teo also denied that there had been bad blood between him and Sulaiman prior to the event held at the prime minister’s residence at Putrajaya.

He said he was willing to forgive his attacker him and would not be pressing charges.

“I was slapped and fell near the Finas director. I don’t know him (Sulaiman) personally and I don’t know what kind of person he is, but I am willing to forgive him. – May 17, 2017.
