Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission says however that no attacks have been reported in Malaysia as yet.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is aware of the massive global ransomware cyberattacks that have hit nearly 100 countries since yesterday.
However as of 10am this morning, no attacks have been reported in Malaysia but MCMC is continuing to monitor the situation together with other enforcement agencies.
Malaysians are therefore strongly urged to immediately take the following precautions:Update their software to the latest patch.
- Ensure that all hosts have enabled endpoint anti-malware solutions.
- Immediately backup vital data to an external hard drive or cloud storage service, if it has not been done already.
At the same time, do not click on any suspicious links and report any incidents to the authorities as quickly as possible.
