PAS leaders claim 'casual chat' with Azmin

Selangor PAS commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi denied that there was a discussion concerning the state exco positions with Menteri Besar Azmin Ali in Sekinchan this morning.
“No. We were just talking about several state government-related programmes,” he told Malaysiakini.
However, Sallehen has no positions in the state government.
Quizzed on the presence of PAS' three excos at the same table, Sallehen once again denied that it was related to their positions.
“No. It was just normal talk,” he added.
This morning, Azmin was seen to be engaged in a serious discussion with Sallehen and the three excos, Abdul Samad, Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Zaidy Abdul Talib.
The 20-minute discussion took place before Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah's visit to Sekinchan.
When journalists attempted to approach the table where Azmin and the PAS four were seated, the menteri besar told them not to come close and continued the discussion.
The meeting was exclusively with PAS, despite several other state exco members from PKR and DAP being present at the function.
Similarly, Zaidi also denied that the discussion was related to the exco positions.
“It was just a casual chat on the programme involving the Selangor ruler,” he told Malaysiakini.
This is believed to be Azmin's second meeting with the PAS leaders since the Islamist party ended its political cooperation with PKR, igniting speculation on the status of the Selangor government.

The meeting comes in the wake of the PKR political bureau meeting, which is slated to take place tomorrow.
The position of the PAS excos became a focal point after the Islamist party severed political ties with PKR, with its syura council accusing its former ally of betrayal.
Following this, Sallehen explained that the PAS excos will retain their positions out of respect for the people's mandate in the last general election.
However, the excos would not be involved in political discussions with PKR.- Mkini
