Tyres on MAS flight burst on landing at KLIA

Tyres on a Malaysia Airlines (MAS) plane burst upon landing, forcing the indefinite closure of Runway 2 at the KL International Airport (KLIA).
The two tyres on Flight MH726 from Jakarta deflated while landing at 7.13 this morning, The Star reported Malaysia Airlines as saying in a statement.
Passengers and crew safely disembarked before being transferred to the terminal by bus along with their luggage, it said.

"The airline will be investigating the cause of the incident on the Boeing 738 aircraft," it said.
"Due to aircraft shortage, some flights utilising this aircraft will be upgraded to be operated by the Airbus 330 aircraft and we are looking into deploying the Airbus 380 aircraft to service the Australian routes," it said.
Meanwhile, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said flight operations will not be affected by the closure as there are three independent runway systems at KLIA, The Star reported.- Mkini
